Consumul de energie al populaţiei din România

The present study shows the evolutions of the generation and consumption of energy in EU countries and especially in Romania, from 1990 till now.
The article includes five chapters, plus conclusions.
The introductory chapter starts with presenting The EC Energy Efficiency Directive which sets rules and obligations to help the EU reach its 2020 energy efficiency target.
Then, some dynamics regarding the generation and prices of energy in Europe, followed by the main indices of the field, as consumption of energy (electricity and natural gas), the efficiency and intensity of using energy, and the access of the households with low incomes to the consumption of energy.
The analysis regarding the endowment of the Romanian houses with energy consuming utilities is followed by the presentation of the main characteristics of the Romanians’ consumption pattern of energy.
The material is based on several categories of data: published by Eurostat, by the National Institute of Statistics and some data collected by the authors, within several special researches of the Research Institute for Quality of Life, Bucharest.
